by guestpost on February 15, 2010

If you are fond of entertaining guests or if you like to have family game nights, then you absolutely have to have one of the many game tables available. You no longer have to deal with the rickety card table and it’s peeling vinyl top when it is time for game night. With the right game tables, you will not only set the tone that your friends and family are important to you, but will enjoy the games, no matter what they are, a whole lot more. Your choice should have a little bit of your personal taste and if you choose one that has the right style, you can leave it set up all of the time.

Coffee tables are a common

by guestpost on July 13, 2009

Coffee tables are a common but often ignored type of home furnishing.  This is unfortunate since they are often the central piece of furnishing in living rooms and can be a great way to affect your design preferences.  Coffee tables come in so many styles that no home owner should complain that they can’t find one to fit in with their other furnishings.  From glass-topped tables to rustic wood ones, the options are endless.  This sometimes makes picking a coffee table difficult but if you approach the topic with a sense of fun, it shouldn’t be so hard.  One question you might ask yourself is what kind of purpose you want your coffee table to serve.  Will it mainly be a decorative coffee table for a sitting area or will you and your guests be using it to set drinks, play games or eat dessert? If you will be using the table often, you may want to stay away from sensitive materials like delicate woods and thin glass tops.  If you would like a more functional glass coffee table, pick one that has a sheet of thick, scratch resistant glass set in a wood or metal frame.  Distressed wood is also a great material for coffee tables that are going to get a lot of use.  Small scratches and stains won’t be so apparent in a wood that is made to look as if it has already been put to a lot of use.  Whatever you choose, make sure it fits your lifestyle or you may end up with an impractical, high-maintenance coffee table.

by guestpost on April 23, 2009

Game tables, besides being centers of attraction, could be great for bonding times with family and friends. These are tables with table tops that are specially adapted to play different types of games. They include standalone tables with table tops that enable you to play chess, checkers or backgammon. You may even play a game of poker or use them for writing. Then there are specialized game tables that range from the slow billiards and pool tables to the high energy table tennis and ice hockey tables. A game table can be specialized for children or for adults, and need not necessarily be placed in your basement. It can be placed in a corner of your living room, a place where friends and guests would love to gather around.
